He IS a baby.

As a rule, youngsters only call out for food. They recognize their parent, hand feeder and caregiver and if they are hungry they make that single, repetiive noise. This is not something that should be ignored using behavior modification.

Keep food in his dish all the time. You may have to move him to the dish if he is not going there himself. Make sure he is eating what you provide. At his age he does need to sit and eat for a long time.

I think it would be good to hand feed him a bit for another month.
