I just want to say, thank you so much to everybody who has responded and given advice. You are all wonderful people! I guess I was very vague with the word “therapy”, and I apologize for that.
I agree that owning a parrot can make life more stressful and cause more anxiety, but they can also serve as a great distraction. For me, I would be putting all my time into caring for the bird. Plus, it’s another reason to get up in the morning. Knowing I have to get up because my parrot depends on me. Sorry, that sounds so depressing.
