I have a 36" white California Cage, cutout a bit in back that was a nestbox. Anyone in MA who is interested please let me know. We had pair of eckie's, female died a year ago and we moved into smaller house, so Buddy downsized.

thx steve

This was one of the originals, built in CA, 20 years old. Normal cleaning needed. Very reasonable for someone who can drive to North Central MA. when someone is at the house we will be selling (wife is there limited hours).

I'm not in MA, and not in the market for the cage, but when you say one died, that is concerning. What caused the death?

Used cages are worrisome for this very reason. Viruses and bacteria can be very resilient and so I would personally never buy a used cage without the necroscopy results of the previous tenant.

Year ago March we lost our beloved Ruby, she was euthanized after determining uterine tumor that was pressing on her spine. Autopsy was done at Tufts medical center who also provided her care for last days. Our 2 (and now 1) bird has never even been in contact with another bird in over 17 years. (Ruby was just about 19 when she passed).

Understand people's concern, I would be also.

We are moving into a smaller house where Buddy is now sitting looking out at an estuary, after finishing his lunch.

Thank you! I hope that helps people feel less skeptical. I didn't mean to dredge up sensitive stuff, I just know that it would be a real issue for me when buying a cage.

Glad to hear Buddy is happy and healthy and sorry for your loss! :(

Bump!

Just moved your thread to this sub-forum where more people looking for cages might see it.

You're welcome. And that's a worthy cause.

As the cage has already been given away, I'll close this thread.
