Ok so i know these 2 Afican greys that are 25 almost 30 years old. They are not tame they are not scared of people but have not been handled in 10 years or more. They live outside. Now the owner passed I have talked about these birds before.

Would you pay for old african gerys that need a lot of work? The other relitives were thinking they could sell the birds. I SAID GOOD LUCK with that.

I wouldn't pay for a bird that isn't handle able I have no problem paying for a bird that is older that I can handle I just paid 750 for bonkers and he's 16 years old. Are you thinking about giving these birds a home.

I have paid for several birds, both younger and older who are not able to be handled just to get them away from where they are. I guess it depends on a person's reasons and mindset.

I paid for $350 for Kiwi and he wasn't handleable and needed work. I don't know that anyone would pay what a hand reared baby of the species would cost for an older bird with behavioral issues, but people are willing to buy older birds in need of work:)

I spent $400 on Ely just to get him out of birdy hell, and he was a monster case at the time, though he wasn't much of an "older" bird at 5.

So someone might be willing to pay it would just take time to find the right home. Thanks for the info.

I would totally pay...to give those birds a better life...I would give up my free time. But that's just me. Good luck.
