Follow the birds cues for handling. Most of them settle easily enough. I always allowed the doors to be open from day one and the bird begins to feel at home at his pace. Talk often, offer treats, dont worry if it takes ten days or two days or two months. The move at their own pace. Congratulations!

Are they loud, do they tend to be vocal ? I have my Kiwi and he is loud as hell when he screams after me. For now i am talking with the current owner hope she chooses me as i already have my exp with parrots :)

Greys tend to mimic the household they are in. If there's a lot of noise, they will make their presence known. :)

I talked to the owner, and she said the bird is in an effin warehouse :| she gave me an item number and i contacted the delivery team. Something is fishy she has the parrot in Nigeria in Benin. I agreed to pay the transport of the bird only if i pay upon delivery. Poor bird stuck in a warehouse with an item number. Wish me luck to get this bird and give it a better life

I must agree ... it sounds like a scam, and there is probably no bird in any warehouse. There will just be one pitiful plea after another ... the bird has left the warehouse, but the truck broke down and need money for gas ... there are many variations on this game, but this is the first time I have heard it played with parrots. Usually the first request for money is very small, good-will deposit ... then there is another larger amount needed ... then once you have paid you will be more likely to pay again so they will keep asking for more until you stop paying, and you won't hear anything more.

Even if this is not a scam bringing an African grey FROM Africa would be a great big mess. I don't think it is legal to import parrots into the country. At best they would go through a lengthy quarantine.
Taking a parrot you own into say England requires lots of paperwork to prove it's your personal property.
No, stay away from this. only buy a bird already in-country.

Glad you all could make the call.
Yes, hopefully there *IS* no bird in *ANY* warehouse.
What a detestable practice.

I will proceed only if I can pay upon delivery,. And the parrot was bought from Romania and the owner took it with her so it's not like it was wild caught and delivered . She sowed me pictures and I've did a reverse Google image serch and they are not on the web. Right now I am waiting for a reply from the delivery company. I agreed on paying 200 euro maximum for delivery. It seems fishy but I will keep you posted

Even if the bird was/is privately owned please look into what it takes to bring it into country.
I hope it works out for you, I am trying to buy an overpriced AG right now.

edit: SORRY I assumed you were in USA. It could be much easer to bring a bird in to Romania.

So I just received a mail from the delivery company the cost is 132 euro which is reasonable. I have to pay 18 euro for them to change the owner and 31 euro to get a licence to deliver an exotic bird the rest of aprox 80 euro is paid along delivery after I see the bird I think I might proceed, I am risking 49 euro witch is not that big of a sum

It take 24 hours to get the papers done and 48 to deliver to Romania, right now I am asking them if a get a receipt for the 49 euro for paperwork. I will start googling to see the prices of exotic birds permits.

That is the way the scam works! Small amounts of cash up front! They will then have car trouble, short on gas, border fines! Google it!

Thank you all for support. Did another reverse google image search and guess what all the pictures are on a site:( .. just confronted the scammer and saved myself some money.
The scammer was quite intelligent getting pictures of the same parrot in the same environment/room. Today before i did my revealing search i sent an email asking if they can delay the shipping, i was thinking about paying on 3-4 november when i usually get my paycheck and guess what the carrying owner said to do as i please, a thing no owner would say about a bird she was giving for free because she couldn't care for it and wanted an experienced owner..
And even if there was a bird currently i am leaving in an 1 dorm apartment not suitable for 2 big cages and the noise the parrots would make.
Glad i came here and you put some sense into my head.
Thank you all!

I am sorry for your disappointment.
I went through a African grey scam about 6 months ago. I found an add through the internet for 2 AG parrots.
$500 us. The area code on the phone number showed it was local to me so I made the Call.
Found out the guy had "just moved" to New York or New Jersey all the way across the country from me.
Was happy to ship the birds to me, tried to play on my emotions and tell me how glad he was that they were going to a good home ect.ect.
Because we could not meet in person I went no further.
Immediately after I blocked his phone number I got a notice from facebook that someone was trying to hack into my account (an account I had closed down, I did not like facebook)
Lots of scams out there.
IF it looks to good to be true it probably is.
