Hello everyone!
Edit****

These might actually be Alexandrines. Not 100% sure though.

On another post here I spoke about going to adopt my U2 and ran into a hand ful of birds that weren't in the best shape. So I took these two ring necks with me because they weee in the worst shape. The female is a plucker so she needs some special love. The male looks fantastic. Neither are tame right now but the kid who was selling these for his grandmother who went to a home said they were hand raised. The male is already coming around but the female has some more trust work to be done.

I'm looking for someone with some IRN/Alexandrine experience who either wants these to get them social again or wants to be their forever home. I paid for them and almost demanded he take my offer due to their shape. They will come with cages and toys. They were in the same cage but I decided to separate them due to the male being a bit of a bully. You can put them back together if you see fit. I will still send both cages with them. I'm only looking to get my initial cost of $150 back. Any additional toys or whatever I don't care about. I do need them to hit an experienced home. We need to spend more time with our new U2 instead of trying to fit everyone in to the schedule. We will keep the IRNs as long as it takes though. We just want them healthy and eventually happy.

Thanks for looking. I'm in Chandler, AZ

Pictures in my album.

I'm so glad you brought them home with you! They look like Alexandrines to me, though:)
I hope you are able to find them a wonderful home!

Hmmmm.....you might be right there. All the more reason I probably shouldn't have them!! I don't even know what they are, just knew they needed some help.

Thanks Terry. What I do know is that naked chick (we call her skinny Minnie) is eating literally anything we give her. She eats more chop than my macaw every morning. She's a good girl, just needs a hand up and she'll be a good companion pet for someone. Just not us, we have our hands full. My wife sits and chats with her every night though. She also only makes noises when my wife is home and she can hear her. She doesn't care about me at all. :)

Yep, they are Alexandrines. They are the same size roughly, right? It's kind of hard to tell with the female, but judging by the size of the beak she is an Alexandrine as well.

Hi, we are interested in rehoming the birds if they are still available. We would drive over from California. We have experience with an abused blue and gold macaw. If that sounds like a possibility, please be in touch either on the forum or via email (A Mod forwarded my email to you). Thanks!

You guys are right, they indeed are Alexandrines. I think I was told one thing and then went with it without thinking. The boy definitely has a patch on his shoulders as well.

The boy is doing amazing. I can hold him just fine. Has never tried to bite and is very excited to be by me.

The female however....not so much. I will leave her cage open and she goes on top and plays with the toys but still doesn't want much to do with us. She likes when the wife chats with her though.

I'll email the person from the thread to discuss things.

Thanks everyone.

Were you still thinking of rehoming the Alexandrines? We would still be interested in giving them a forever home. Thanks! Nina and Michael
