Blue Throated Macaw Baby

I am forced to rehome my beautiful baby boy.

He's a blue throated macaw. He is amazing and super friendly. He loves to be held and loves cuddling. He will sit in your hand upside down. He loves everyone. No biting. He is a great eater. Eats pellets and fresh food.

He is 5 months old and is DNA sexed and has a hatch certificate. He comes with a large HQ macaw cage. Also included is a large portable perch.

I am leaning for a face to face transaction. I am not sure he can shipped out of state.

I don't want any trades.

I am FIRM on his rehoming fee of $2,600.00. Please don't ask if I'll take less, I won't. I'm just saving my time and your upfront.

Re: Blue Throated Macaw Baby

What a cute little fella!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 5 months before the proper weaning age for Blue Throated Macaws. I thought it was 7+ months?

Re: Blue Throated Macaw Baby

I'm not sure as I am not a reader and have never raised one from birth. I got him and he was almost completely weaned. I have him eating pellets but he is fed fresh fruits and veggies 2 or 3 times a day. He doesn't eat much nuts yet. Starting to though. He came from a reputable breeder.

Re: Blue Throated Macaw Baby

Sorry to see this hope he finds a good new home. Was there a reason he is being rehomed?

Re: Blue Throated Macaw Baby

I am in Tampa.

The reason for the rehome is I will be working in Alaska 5 months out of the year starting in May 2019. I think it will just be to hard to find a place for him while I'm gone and to hard to take with me.

Re: Blue Throated Macaw Baby

What a shame. I hope someone will come through to give him a good home, and am sorry you have to give him up. He looks like a very good fluff.
