Hey guys,

I've heard that too much sunflower seed is not good for Alex's.. unfortunately it's his favorite food. Every day we feed him sprouted seed and a bowl of chopped apple, grapes, green veg and he also always has a bowl of pellets available to him, but we have lately been treating him in the afternoon with a seed mix that he loves, it's sunflower seed, wheat, cracked corn, oats, safflower and barley... but this mix is about 40% sunflower seed. How often should we be giving him this seed mix? Each serving is about 2 tbsp.

If he's eating a healthy diet, then you can keep dry seeds to 25% of the diet or less. You could even use the dry seeds as training treats.
