prince has just lost one of his beautiful long tail feathers :( as well as one of the shorter ones (i thunk its his). now he seems to be very grumpy. in your experience did ur alexs get grumpy when they lost their l8ng feather??

Often, birds will get grumpy when they go into their moults.....time to offer more bathing opportunities & be careful about rubbing pinnies (newly erupting pin feathers).....some birds appreciate help with head & neck feathers (the ones they can't reach), but others are particular & nippy at this time of year.....

when i first brought both prince and bruno home (begin of feb) they were going tbrough a heavy molt, i thought it was over. it was also quite warm then so all the 3 were having a daily cold shower, and up until last week it cooled down enough that i was hust misting them 3 times + a day. then in the kast week it has warmed right up again so they have been having lots of showers again, and since some serious molting going on again. another question, it seems his tail region is hurting. every time his tail touches something that pushes it he squwaks.... is this normal?
