So my husband and I are seriously considering getting another bird. Growing up we always hade multiple birds in the house and it was lovely to hear all of the chirping and whistling going on. So we think it is time to add to our flock.

We are thing, of either a hanhs macaw or a CAG? We are going to the breeders in a coup,e of weeks time to have a look and possibly put down a deposit.

Fingers crossed that Bundii our Alex will accept the new bird. We are hoping that they will accept and maybe become friends. I would really love for Bundii to have some company during the day while I am at work.

Anyway must get back to work. I add new pics once we have chosen our new baby.

I have a CAG to go along with Tango. The CAG likes tango and always wants to hang out but not vice versa unfortunately. They chatter amongst themselves all day though. You just can't put them near each other without a barrier. One issue is the size difference, tango is a little guy for an alexandrine and talon is massive, at 8 months is bigger than any adult CAG i've ever seen. Similar to a Hahn's Macaw is an Illiger's Macaw, I met one once and they were a total sweetheart.

I do love the CAG's but the Hanhs has the advantage of being smaller. I get I will just have to do some more research and go to the breeders and then make my decision.

Visit with the breeder and interact with the different birds to get a sense what your more comfortable with and what catches your eye. Also the ones that picks you is usually the best ones to have cause the bond is amazing!

Thanks for the advice. We will see what happens in about 4 weeks time when we head to the breeders. They also have Amazons so we will just have to wait and see.
