Does anyone else have an impatient Alex? This is definitely not Bundii's forte.

I was trying to attach her favourite perch to the side of her cage at my mums and she trying to get on it. However to achieve this, she had to go over the door and down it and then along the seed guard and then step up onto the perch. The only problem was that I was in the way, still trying to attach the perch. She kept grabbing the cage with her beak and then swinging the door open. She repeatedly did this until I was out of the way.

I am trying to tell her that she just has to be patient but no. This seems to be too hard for my baby.

If she wants something, it has to be done now-not when I am ready but now. NOW MUM NOW. :D

She also snatches food, if she thinks she has been waiting too long. I think we will have to be working on manners next.

Yep, you win - at least Bundii cannot laugh. Although she makes a noise like she is blowing bubbles when she is not getting her own way :)

Wait sounds like a great idea. Although I am not sure how it would 'fly' in this house.:D

LOL! I think it's an Alex thing, don't you, Bundiibird? Alexes look so dignified and upright, but when they get their knickers in a twist, all that dignity is out the window and they want it YESTERDAY! Good luck with it - I haven't managed to get my lot to wait yet. :D

LOL!! Yes, I definately think we should think of a way to teach them the 'wait' command :)

I taught my dog the "wait" command. She knows the difference between "stay" and "wait," so maybe it can be done with a bird!! I've been trying to get Meiko to stay on his cage instead of flying to me if I get more than 10in away!!! Hah Maybe it can be done....!!!

Trish, definitely agree. Bundii is just so impatient. I am trying to get her dinner most nights and she just does this annoying persistent squeak until she gets her dish. If you take too long putting it in the cage, you get a mouthful err....... Beakful of random squawkings. So not funny.

Anyway, happy new year. From Amanda & Bundii

Phoe, my crimson bellied conure, is exactly like that. He is so impatient for his food, attention, coming out of his cage. For that matter, so are my dogs. I am pretty sure that they ALL have me trained pretty well.
