I just got a 5 month old alex, 2 weeks ago from a pet shop.
The people at the shop said she was a lovely natured bird, and I was playing a bit with her at the shop, and she was a nice natured bird, no bitting or anything.
during the first 5 days she was a lovely bird. I tought her how to spin and wave.
but after about 5 days she started bitting me. The internet says just to ignore the bitting, and after a while she will figure out that the hand isnt going to do anything to her.
so I did that, but the bitting has turned into chomping and drawing blood. I can read her body language and know when to avoid a bite. but she doesnt always show aggression in her body language.
She doesnt mind being fed from my hand. but she doesnt like beting touched anywhere on her body.
could she be going through a bluffing stage? if so, how do I go about looking after her and handeling her?
Can anyone give me information on what to do?
