Tomorrow I'm paying for a Alexandrine Hen.:D She is 10 weeks old, still in the nest and has been raised by her parents. Once she comes out of the nest I will be taking over the role of the parents.:cool:

Now all I need is a name.

She is home now, gave her a small feed and set up a carrier cage for her to rest in and help her adjust. She has been DNA tested and also blood work for any pathogens. Results Female and negative.
This is the short list of names that we have chosen. Mulawa is in the lead........ but

Akala = parrot
Bulla Bulla = green parrot
Bundara = Sky
Girralong = Star
Kumali = Sacred
Mulawa = Tree shadows
Poolunka = Parrot
Pungala = Shadow
Tiarri = Wind
Year = Joyful
Yirgella = Morning star

update
The hen is feeding well. she was sitting on my finger around 20 minutes ago scratching, preening and stretching out. She is in a small pet carrier, this so she not overwhelmed and feels safe and secure.

She is younger than I expected but nothing I can't handle. At the moment she is sitting at the pet carrier entrance. correction she has stepped up onto my hand and climbed up onto my shoulder. I have put her back and I'm going to give her a feed. So I be gone for a little while.

CONGRATULATIONS! ! I love that name. Is she and Delfin getting along? Mulawa seems to feel quite safe in her new home! She's a lucky bird to have such a great flock to call home.

Mulawa has settled in quite well. She is preening herself, lifting her wings to greet us and is stepping up and down.

Mulawa eating around 25 to 30 ml 3 to 5 times a day. We have start to chop fruit and veggies into 3 mm cubes and giving her that in between feeds. Delfin is interacting with her quite well. But he gets a bit over excited and flies off the perch and then comes back and lands on her head. So Mulawa and I rouse on Delfin and he gets a 'what did I do?' Look.

The whole interaction is going better than what I expected. But Delfin has been well socialise so the green-eye monster (jealously) is not really a issue.
