alexandrine
hey,
i need your help. so, the thing is that my alexandrine (now 15months old) is going through molting period, which started few months ago. he has lost one of the two long tail feathers cca 5months ago, which soon grew back again. what happened yesterday is that he lost same feather once again. i'm not sure if it is normal, that during molting period the same feathers fall out few times?
next, he is really agressive, biting ( blood bites), making angry sounds when he is not in mood for a company- actually he is never in a good mood for that, except when you have food. his behaviour is very bad, me and my husband try hard to make him more domesticated - we take him to other room, away from his cage, where we try to connect, but sadly with little success.. he is not friendly at all, he is the happiest when he is out of the cage and someone is in the same room as he is, but on a safe distance - few meters away. we got him when he was 3 months old, bought from a local breedr, so he was hand fed etc. any advice?
thanks for your help!

Molting birds can be a very cranky time in their life. They itch, pin feather can hurt. My lil plet has been molting for two months. She is a little brat. But a lovely lil brat. :) your bird could also be reaching maturity, with the hormones can play havoc as well. I'd give him some space and don't ask anything of him more than you need too. Give him a cool bowl of shallow water or mist him, and offer treats to keep your bond intact.
