Hello, I have two Alexes. The male is 2 and a half years and the female is one year.

Often, when the two are next to each other the male walks up and down and then walks right upto the female, bobs his head and puts his head under her beak while making a clicking noise. He will continously walk back and forth and do this for about 30 minutes. The female just stands there and looks at him like she is confused. The other day I caught her doing the same thing to him!

I am wondering if this is bonding behaviour, mating behaviour or if they are simply having fun? They get along very well and follow each other all around the house all day.

If you have had any similar situations please let me know!

Thank you

It seems like they are bonding with each other, my cockatiels do that too sometimes. It's either bonding, or that they are having fun with each others. However, this behavior kind of indicates some bonding. :)

Sounds like they are feeding each other/regurgitating to each other. As stated, if this is the case it's a bonding thing.
