Males have a ring around their neck, so unless your fid hasn't moulted yet again, it's PROBABLY a female, but give him or her some time and see :)

Hi, I think you have a ring neck, not an Alexandrine? Hope that isn't bad news! I can't see any red on it's shoulders and it would be en expensive mutation to be the colour it is and be an Alex. The beal also ooks more ring neck than Alex. IRN's are smaller than Alex's so if I were you I would get an IRN not an Alex as a friend for yours.

I would also guess she's a she, but if you wait another 6 or so months you should know because he/she either will or won't have started to develop a ring.

Thanks for the feedback Jottlebot :)
Its my first parrot and i don't know a lot of them to be honest, but i try to learn every day for my parrot :) .
Every news are good news for me about my pet. In my country they call them Small Alexander so i guess you are right that i have IRN not Alexandrine and i agree with you that i have to buy IRN .

I would also like to know if my parrot will accept one more parrot in the cage from different sex or they are territorial and they may hate each other?

Glad that wasn't bad news! Small Alexandrine makes perfect sense!

I think IRNs can get grumpy when they get older and mature and can start to fight even if they've grown up together. I'm not sure gender would make much of a difference (2 males, 2 females or one of each) in terms of how likely they were to get on, you would have to be careful they did not accidently mate.

You probably have to be prepared that they will always be in different cages and then you won't be disappointed. They can still be friends in different cages, but it's safer than having them together. Just my opinion though :)
