Yay me.... it's working, it's working

So had a few hrs with Max today learning him to 'Step up' to a perch I'm holding out in my hand. I've removed sunflower seeds from his every day available diet and replaced with pellets. He's loves the swap - anyway this allows me to use the sunflower seeds as treats and it's working. He steps up to the perch to gain the access closer to the seed I'm holding with other hand. However as soon as he has it in his eek he's looking to turn around and hop back. Each time I want his to step up I'm repeatedly saying "Step" And when he does obviously oraise and reward with seed

I think this is great foundation to start his training and trust between us both... just taking baby steps at the moment - so excited

Just kidding. Congratulations. You sound like you're well-informed, consistent, and loving. And Max sounds adorable! Pictures, please?
