Apparently cracking beak of my parrot- Help requested

My green raw parrot has apparently cracking beak. Can anyone guide me what it might be and how to cure it. I'll try to post a pic of the same here if I can. Thank you.

Don't worry your parrot's beak is growing. It seems like the beak is cracking but its nothing to worry about. By the way how old is your parrot?

Thank you for your reply. My green parrot is about 3 years old. Other than his beak issue he is healthy, active and talks a lot. I give him sunflower seeds mixed with other pallets and variety of fruit like apple, melon, mango and vegetable like carrots etc on alternate basis everyday. I am however worried if the cracks are on surface of the beak or deep and how to cure them. Thank you.

If you don't have one in the cage try putting a concrete perch in there. I found it best to place them where the bird usually eats for the best effect. They'll rub their beak on it to get the food off and in turn will file their beak down. They do this on rocks and branches in the wild. It'll also help to keep those claws from tearing you apart

That looks like pretty normal beak growth to me. Occasionally your birds beak will start to look pretty rough like that, but within a few weeks should start looking better. Or at least, that's how my birds beak grows. It get's chippy looking then smooths out naturally as he chews toys/rubs his beak on his cement perch. Make sure your bird has lots of chewing toys right now and if possible add a cement perch to the cage. Chewing wood helps a parrot naturally keep their beak groomed and cement perches many seem to instinctually know to use like a nail file for the beak.

What you are seeing is a flaking of the outer most lay of the Beak. Beaks are like finger nails in that they are constantly growing. A healthy Parrot will need a rubbing (concrete) perch to smoothen and clean their Beak. As suggested by others, the location is best in front of their food dish, but never in a location in which they would sleep as the surface is to rough for their claws.

NOTE: Cracks can occur and are a great concern as if not watched /treated can result in the lost of a large section of the Beak. Commonly, cracks occur from the Beak being caught in a hard surface and removing /twisting the Beak resulted in the crack. Be watchful of such areas and limit or remove those 'things' that could cause them to catch their Beak.
