Cause for concern?

Hey guys! Uncovered Carl this morning (late, according to him) and noticed hes lost a tail feather. This makes 2 in a few weeks. Is this cause for concern or is he molting? We are in winter here so I only give him a mist bath once or twice a week, hes not overly fond of them. Hes otherwise healthy, currently navigating his foraging ball to try and get some breakfast. Ive noticed when he's preening though theres a few white little feathers like down almost that he shakes away. Ive added a photo of the tip of the feather lost this morning...looks intact and no blood so Im hoping that means nothing to worry about.
Thanks in advance

Hi, sounds very like a moult.

Someone advised me a few weeks ago to look at the very end, if it was pushed out by a new feather growing there will be a round 'dimple' right at the end. Also if it's been plucked there would probably be damage on the bit that would have been near his body.

Its definitely pinched in at the tip. Whew. He looks so weird without his big blues haha

Yeyyyyy! Good news!

Mine lost his first long tail feather about 5 days ago. They've both been broken since we got him in March. I can't WAIT for him to start growing them back!

You are lucky that you have a perfectly intact tail feather. Treasure it because there may not be many more like that.
