I have a 2 year old male alexandrine I have been looking for a female for quite a while now and no luck I have been wondering if a female Indian ringneck can go with him?

As a friend or to breed? I really discourage hybridization of these two birds. There is no point and it just leads to mixed up babies with unpredictable temperaments that often get bred themselves and end up ruining the gene pool. I’m actually extremely frustrated with irresponsible and reckless hybridization at the moment as a friend of mine, new to raising birds, just purchased a large group of GCCs only to discover half of them are hybridized with black capped conures! They are being passed off as gccs. So irresponsible.

Just for a friend for him, would he fight with a male alexandrine do you know? I’m not interested in breeding, I have read some stuff on the mix breeding And it doesn’t sound good to me either

Honestly asiatic parrots such as ringnecks and alexandrines don’t pair bond like other birds, and they usually do best in an aviary or in their own cage. Females often kill the males especially during hormonal season. I wouldn’t get a second bird unless YOU want a second bird, even if they hate each other and can never be out of their cage at the same time.
