1) I have a Goffins that we think is female and about 25-30 yrs old. She was my mother's bird and when my mother passed away several years ago my dad had her. He passed a way last July and we are not able to give her the attentions she needs. She wants to be held all the time and is very loving. My husband and I both work long hours and cannot give her the attn she needs.

2) We have a male Blue Fronted Amazon, about 25 yrs old that is my husband's bird but, my husband is having alot of allergy problems and is not able to spend much time with him any more. He's an awesome bird who talks and sings but, he will only bond to one person and gets jealous. I would only want to rehome him with someone who is experienced with the male amazons
and who can give him lots of one on one attn.

We lost a 25 year old parrot after a long expensive battle with a recalcitrant infection, and it was a blue front, so thinking of your is making me cry.

I absolutely adore your Goffin, she is beautiful and looks like such a sweetheart. I have always loved Goffins and Galahs because they are so affectionate and loving, and are just the right size to snuggle. I've owned and bred birds for 30 years and have never had the pleasure of owning either, the only large parrot was an African Gray that I grew up with that belongs to my mom...How soon are you looking to rehome her? I certainly have the time and the room, and I can make the trip to Chicago easily, I have made that drive many, many times as I'm a huge Notre Dame fan and have gone to 11 home games in South Bend. I usually drive out on Wednesday morning and will spend a day in Chicago, great art museum! I own a home in State College, PA, it's a little over a 7 hour drive to South Bend and then a little over an hour to Chicago from there, depending on traffic. Easy drive.

If you could possibly email me some more info/details about your sweet Goffin I'd love to hear more about her. I know rehoming is a difficult process to go through, my birds are my family and I can't imagine not having them in my life everyday, so I appreciate that you want what is best for her.

My email is [email protected], so if you could please email me about her I'd be thrilled to learn more about her, I've been seriously thinking about adopting a larger parrot soon. I volunteer at a bird and exotic pets rescue and have been waiting patiently for someone to surrender a larger bird, but the only large birds we have taken in recently have all been large Macaws that have all had some pretty serious health issues. Not that I mind health issues or the extra care involved, and I have a great avian vet, but the macaws we have taken in recently have been very, very heartbreaking. I've also been looking on places like Craigslist but all I've found are many, many parrot scams (so many scams it's sad) and breeders "rehoming" young birds for retail prices. So I have just patiently waited, looked on here and other forums I belong to, and your Goffin is the first bird needing a new home that I've gotten really excited about!

Thanks, I hope to hear from you soon!

Ellen
