he bites his leg like a dog bites its tail during playtime

HI my 2 year old amazon(YN) bites his leg just smiple not hard bite (or puts it in his mouth) like a dog would when he is playing is this normal? he thinks someone grabbed his leg kindda funny but he dosnt seem to hurt himself he kust nips it, is this normal behavoir?

As long as you are sure he doesn't have any parasites and he isn't actually hurting himself, I wouldn't worry about it. All of my birds have done it but it's more like they are just scratching every now and then. I have seen birds chew at their leg bands too, but I have never had any of my birds banded. Ziggy will chew at her toes after she eats to get all of the food off, then she wipes her beak on her perch lol.

2 yr old, he's just playing, have you tried the plastic ball with the bell inside? it's golfball size ,just throw it in the bottom of the cage, my immatures think that's the "bomb".
