What's a good sleeping place?

My OWA's cage is outdoor on our patio and has to remain there due to space issues. However, I just started bringing him indoors to sleep at night because I live in Florida and we have a big raccoon problem in my neighborhood. His cage is very sturdy and secure (I think) but I don't want him hurt or traumatized by a predator trying to get to him through the bars at night. He's been sleeping on his T perch but I'm wondering if that's a good thing. He has a relatively roomy travel cage but he really doesn't like it and appears to be stressed out when he's in it - he hangs in a corner and doesn't relax on the perch. I don't want him to be unhappy every night but I do want him to be safe. Thoughts and ideas are welcome.

I've found that you need 1/2 inch spacing between bars to be coon proof. However they will still be terrorized by them. Yes bring him inside, a perch is fine if he;s happy there. Hanging in the corner is a bad sign,There's nothing wrong with him sleeping on the T-perch if he;s OK with that. Most of my birds sleep outside of their cage on a perch attached to the cage.My mother's longtime pet zon stayed in the yard all day and slept on a Tperch at nite in the laundry room.

Ok - that's good to know. He appears very happy on his perch at night. I didn't know if the perch stand was too stressful for his little feet all night. He's been sleeping in my daughter's room on his rolling perch and he was even "dancing" the other night when she was playing her music before she turned out the lights. He's so darn cute!!!

I would recommend a natural wood perch if he spends long hours on it or we use the safety perchs that are smooth on top and rough on the sides, easy to clean and not uniform dia. remember dia needs to be 1 1/2 times the size of their perch size when perched and nails on feet are nail to nail.( if perched on 1" dia perch and nails just touch, then needs 1 1/2 " dia perch)Note; 1 1/2" dia or larger is good for most zons .

Ok I might have to get him a sleeping tree or some other apparatus because he has one of those perches that has the cups on both sides and the tray underneath. I don't think I can get a natural shaped perch for that or can I? I have no idea what's available for those as I never had one before - his Dad gave it to me along with his other stuff when we brought him home.
