Happy Thanksgiving to all. Wanted to post this question to anyone who can answer. Kit appears to be getting healthier. she is getting more vocal since Pixie has come into our household and i think she is feeling more vibrant about life since he is here. Pixie is a yellow naped amazon who was in NH and in need of a new home. I was wondering since Kit is starting to appear like she is feeling better I notice her Feathers appear to be brighter. Do their feathers change in hue and color when they are healthier?

Yes ,health plays a large part in the appearance of their feathers, so does mental health. Sunshine and a bath don't hurt either. LOL

I agree with Henpecked, Since i got my ammies from the not so good home they were in before they have brightened up a ton in the 3 months i've had them. They look very shimmery now like they are glowing with happyness. Sounds like you have a happy bird on your hands, congrats!

Thank you so much all of you. I am so happy that it is a sign of improvement I have thought she was doing better but I never know if I am just wishful or if she is really showing signs of improvement. After I put up that post I spent some time with Pixie and he let me Scratch him. I am like a kid in a candy store It is so exciting lol. He was a well loved and handled bird it has just been a matter of time so he could build up a trust in me. Hopefully soon he will step up so he can move around the house more with me. My house is finally feeling somewhat back to normal since I lost my CAG. Not that he will ever be replaced but this is sure better than no birds.:)
