Rio Is Making Progress :)

So I have had Rio for 13 days now and he is making so much progress. He loves baths, I run a little water in the bathtub each night and he has a blast in there. His feet I think will be alright, I'm thinking they were just sore because he can grasp onto things now and he is getting around much better with his modified cage. I don't think there is much hope for his left eye, it's no longer crusty and sealed shut but he cannot see out of it. He has filled out too ...... amazing what proper nutrition can do. He will let me pet his head in small doses, I'll take whatever I can get with this poor bird. My 7 year old son has fallen in love with him and is already making plans for when he moves out and has his own house, he wants Rio to go with him Not sure if Rio was ever loved by someone before but he sure has captured my whole family's hearts. Him & Piper are now in the same room and they chatter back & forth. He has settled in nicely and I hope we have many, many more years with him.

That's really wonderful news! As for the eye, I wouldn't worry too much about whether he regains sight. I found out my new Grey is nearly blind, and probably can only see see shadows out of one eye and she does quite well.
