Sassy is upset....

2 years ago, we gave my mother in law a Blue Crown Conure named BC.. He talks and screams constantly.. Well, Sassy was enjoying being the only parrot in the house, because she is quiet.. Today, my mother in law, gave us back BC. BC is about 6 ft away from Sassy and screaming loudly. Sassy is aggitated that BC is back and ruffled feathers, spreaded tail and wings, pecking at everyone that comes near. Except me... But boy is BC loud.. Pearcing squak.. Sassy is aggitated so she takes out frustration on her toys and toward other family members.

I'd recommend separate areas,maybe another room. Sassy may not like an "intruder". Maybe after they talk to each other ,but can't see each other,they can be nearer. Zons can be possessive. I'd try "breaking the ice" first.

I would recommend you get a new cage because that one doesn't appear to be in good shape.

Been thinking about buying Sassy a new cage. It is beginning to rust.. It was BC cage origanally, but it was a larger cage, so we gave it to Sassy because she was a larger bird. But the cage is 13 years old and a better cage would be good.

Last night, my son took BC out of the cage and in the living room. I took Sassy out too. I sat with Sassy on my knee and BC sat on my wife's chair. Sassy was good with me, but still aggitated some. This morning I took Sassy out for a while too. She seems to be getting use to BC. I think 3 to 4 days of it, it might be good. BC make the same high pitch squeel that my Dads cockatoo made. I once had a Blue Front Amazon that picked up on my Dads cockatoo high pitch squeel. So we would squirt my Dads cockatoo to stop him from making the noise. But half the time it was my Blue Fronted Amazon. Wonder if Sassy will mimic BC.. lol
