Cute little guys. They look to be about the same age as my yellow nape babies. About 2 weeks old. I couldn't hear the guy on the video well enough to know if he gave ages. Good luck getting a girl. Odds are in your favor, although I've had clutches of 3 boys too.

I don't understand why these birds are taken away from their parents this young? Maybe the breeder hopes for more eggs/babies?
They are certainly very cute, but I still reckon they should be fed/raised by the parents for quite a while, yet... Unless, of course, there's a reason to pull them out...

Lene , i usually pull mine at 3wks, not to get more babies, but to start socializing. That and i "think" i can do a better job of feeding. Even with plenty of available food there's still a lot of difference in the amount of food feed to the different size babies. Many breeder zons who come from "production" aviaries have their eggs pulled or chicks at a very young age, these birds often will kill chicks because they have never had the chance to raise them. I have one such pair of Napes and have to pull babies within the first week or lose them. Many reasons i guess, but we all do what works for us. Personally i like to leave my babies with the parents long enough for them to imprint that they are a bird and not a human. just my .02 worth,,,,the only birds that i let my parents rear are those i hold back as future breeders.
