Hi all, just scrolling through the gazzillions of images I have stored on my external hard drive (oo-er missus), and thought I might give you a little test....Guess the species...

That is a bodinis amazon. It is a subspecies of the festive. I used to have a pair of bodinis and a single female festive. They are among my very favorite amazons.

By the way, that bird is in perfect feather. Did you get any pictures showing their beautiful red rumps? They display them in a way similar to the way that other amazons display their brightly colored tailfeathers.

its a REAL test, there are three species in the picture. Zarafia got the bird, I got the nut, someone else can try to get the tree.

And I will go one step further: the bird is a baby or at least in its first couple years according to the dark color of the eyes. When mature the eyes are almost red.

How embarassing. I should have noticed the red in the tail. Is it a red tailed amazon? If so it is a species I have never seen before and it is gorgeous. And remarkably similar to the bodinis.
Congrats on stumping me though.

My 2 cents.

Next time you might want to upload those pictures to ImageShack, when you link to your PhotoBucket account, the picture title is shown

So it's fairly easy to tell it's called a Redtailed. :D
