I spent last night happily making my first big batch of chop for all the birdies, with enough to freeze for a while. Lentils, mung beans, brown rice cooked together; steamed sweet potato; crunchy diced red pepper, corn, mustard greens, kale, hot pepper flakes, nutmeg, and apple cider vinegar. It was good enough that I took some to work for lunch today.
Result: as I was munching on chop at noon, my husband and my birds were having a gyros party!!!
