My parrot, Zach, has been molting for almost 1 month now and he has 1 little feather left on his chest. He is such a happy bird so I doubt he plucking ( at least I seen him not plucking ). I had read it could take up to 2 months or maybe 3 months for it to all grow back. anyways, a little more info would help, ty.

when a parrot molts the new feather pushes out the old one.. so if he has no feathers or is not full of pin feathers it is not a molt.. He is plucking. The pluck for several reasons he could be happy but he could be board and need more then he is getting.. it could also be a medical reason.. or a food allergy.. sorry wish I was more help..

well I spend almost all day with him.. ever since I got my cat.. he has became a little jealous but I never ever seen him pluck. I dont see any feathers anywhere around his cage or on the floor. he is a beautiful bird but only part that is gray is his belly. But thanks, Im going to take him to the vet for a check up
