Odd Choking Sound?

Hi all,
I have a 4 year old blue fronted amazon who has been making this odd choking sound recently. He also made the same sound last year around this time (winter here). The sound is very concerning as it sounds like he is choking. It is interpretable (mainly when I come rushing into the room he will stop and yell hello). After that quick stop it is right back to the sound again though. He is clearly concerned by the sound as he will walk around and sometimes have issues placing his feet. During the event he will also shake and just wants to hold my finger with his foot. I have not been able to find information regarding what he is doing so I was hoping someone here would be able to identify it. I have uploaded and attached a video I took of it happening today.:green2:Thanks!

LOL. I promise you your baby isn't choking. Someone's in the mood for some lovin'. :D

My mature female YN Amazon makes a very similar sound when she's "in the mood". I completely ignore her when she's doing it, as I don't want to encourage her in any way, shape or form. :)

I had the same question about my BFA! So now I suspect my "He" is a "She!" And it seems to be almost a snorting that they do, weird.

She's very a very lovely girl though too. :) Welcome.

Hi everyone,
Thank you all so much for the help! I just wanted to confirm that it was nothing to be concerned of (I kind of suspected it may be something to do with mating because it was always at the same time of year). Thanks for the warm and informative welcome. :green2:
