i have "adopted" a blue front amazon the lady had him for only 5 years he is around 25 she said he came in a parakeet cage :(, he doesn't really like me currently since i gave him a new cage. he does this thing that he will just keep his foot up and he will step away and put it raise it more then when i step back he puts it down i do see him flash his eyes but not pin . he is also abnormally quiet he just makes these cute beep sounds once in a while.

Luigi - Congrats on your new Amazon! How long have you had him? Do you have any other birds? There is an adjustment period when you adopt a parrot. You have to build there trust. I'm sure he likes the cage fine. He just needs to have time to adjust to it. Be patient with him. Give him time to get used to you. He will come out of his shell before you know it.

There are a lot of great members on this forum that can give you a ton of advice and help. Hang in there! Your patience will be rewarded! :)

i have a jardine in the house currently my aunt went out of town and he turns into a mush ball for me when she isnt around. i went over to him again and he does flash i named him reptar hopefully he takes to it, i'm starting clicker training with him but he only likes scrambled eggs but lost interest. i just sit there and talk to him from the floor when he is on his high perch.

Sitting and talking to him is a great start. You are allowing him to get used to you. Keep it up and don't give up!
