Keiko Yellow-crowned Amazon
Hello, I haven't been on recently due to school exams, homework, and 5 hour rehearsals!

During all this keiko has started to molt, I was wondering how long it will take?

And will her flight and tall feathers come out??

Thanks!;)

Molts can last a few weeks to a few months. It varies on bird, temperature, lighting, diet, etc! Some molts are light (very few feathers) and some are heavy (bird looks scraggly and might be plucking but it's not).

So it's hard to say for sure! But Keiko will molt what Keiko needs to!

Like MonicaMc mentioned, it can last a few weeks or longer dependent on the bird. She will molt her flight and tail feathers but the new feathers are coming as the others ones are being preened off. Try giving her a warm bath or take her in the shower with you, which helps soothes the new incoming feathers.
