My son purchased Skittles, around 1990, he was 3 to 5 years old at the time. He was told Skittles was a Double Yellow-Headed Amazon. However, when I look up similar Amazons on line, it appears Skittles is a Blue Fronted Amazon.

The band of blue above his beack and nares is not large, and is difficult to see in the photograph, but it is present.

Comparing his pics with images of BFAs would leave me to guess he is a BFA.

Any comments?

Thanks,

Forbey

That's what I thought mine was too when I picked him up . But like Sandy said Double yellows have lighter colored beaks [didn't know about the feet :) also] Mines a 30 plus year old Blue frnt.I was told they have less blue as they age.

Thanks!

I wasn't aware of the beak and feet color either.

Learn something everday, today, it wasn't something that comes back to bite me. (Although Skittles can! LOL)

You want cute ... when I enter the house ... he says "Hi Baby"! (Although, when he says it to my wife, he says it slower and in a higher "girly tone)
