I finally got Morgan an aviator harness!
He's completely fine with it being around him and actually lets me loop it over his head. Only problem is that after about 5 seconds of it being on him he freaks and tries to get it off of himself. It was quite frightening when this happened :(
Anyone have any tips on harness training?

On a better note though, he's finally converted to a pelleted diet :D
He gets around 1/2 tablespoon of his seed mix at night.
Occasionally he'll say "You want some?" when he sees me snacking on his mix (it's a human grade organic mix) as I'm making his food LOL

Just take it slow, it can takes months to get a harness fully on a bird and rushing it can destroy any progress you have. Instead of leaving the harness on him until he freaks out, place it around his neck, then remove it before he panics. Reward him for this and don't try any more for a week. After a week try just a little longer.

Once he is ok with having it on his neck for a indefinite amount of time without being scared you can start start messing with his wings and rubbing the harness on his body when it's around his neck. The key word to harness training istake it slooow and work at your birds pace. Also, don't be afraid to take a few steps backwards to a point were your bid is comfertible so they can re-establish their confidence.

Did you watch the DVD that came with the harness?

That's awesome he is on pellets! Do you give him fresh food too? I give both my fids chop mix often

He's picky about fresh food.
He'll only eat steamed veggies if they're lukewarm and he sees me eating out of the same plate lol
Once they get cold he refuses to even go near them

I am happy your got your harness! Having a harness is great, it's awesome to be able to take them outside and enjoy the day. Although I have no advice to give, I got really luck with my baby, I just picked him up and put it on him and he started chewing on it but he never freaked out. I think I would have been traumatized if he freaked out. But he's pretty easy going. I have heard that the dvd that comes with it is great I also watch a quick little video on their website that is very informational. Good luck!!! Keep us posted on how he's doing.
