WOW!

It was one rough weekend for Skittles an me! Thursday, my daughter brought her two children to spend the night with her brother's son and his girlfriend's 3 kids, we had most of them at our house for several hours before heading over to the girlfriends house. Skittles was slightly agitated, but not as bad as previously.

Friday, my wife gets a call that the children have all become possessed by demons and she needs to send them home. Two go north to their home and grandma takes my son's son to our house over Friday night. When I got home, I got Skittles out of his cage for some R&R with daddy. It was just me, grandma and Zach. He was extremely well behaved and QUIET! However, Skittles had caught the DEMON the kids had the day before.

I attempted to give him a walnut, he grabbed it from my hand and dropped it to the floor, followed by an open-beak lunge for my hand. I had to resort to getting Mr. SHIRT to convince him he needed to go back in his house. AND HE ATTACKED THE SHIRT!

Needless to say, I tried to come by the cage periodically and talk to Skittle, but he would have none of it.

The next morning, I opened the cage, Skittles came right out, bit down on the cage and fluffed up, a clead indication that he was ready for some serious head and neck scratching, followed by some inquisative mouthing of my wedding ring and my fingers.

Mr. Hyde (or more like CUJO) was nowhere to be seen and he has been fine ever since.

Man, talk about multiple personality disorders! LOL :confused::eek:

I believe amazons are like this. Blue can be exactly the same. Usually something has upset them... Don't think you need to look to far ahaha.. At least he calmed down and had his head ruffled:)

He does tend to be moody; however, he has greatly improved. It appears to be in stages. When he first moved in with us he did little else than scream. After a few months he only screamed when no one was home for a long time, or when we were home, but out of sight too long.

When I took him off the seed diet and went to pellets it got worse for a few days, then it got even better. Besides his attitude, his plummage is much more vibrant as well.

Recently we moved out of town and ito the country. He sleeps better, less restless, but when he wants to scream he doesn't bother as many people. Our new home is much bigger and much less cluttered than our previous home and there is room for sleep overs. This has lead to the latest round of INSANITY. With any luck and a lot of Skittles time, hopefully he will improve another big step.
