Do we have a thread with funny stuff? Oh well, I thought I would share some :D

Since I don't have much time, my parrots are always with me when I'm home.
I also take them to the shower. Barankin sits on the bathrooms lamp and sings. Tihan sits on the actial shower.

One day Tihan decided he would not sit on the shower. He insisted in staying on my shoulder and getting soacked.
He was all excited and happy. He started laughing and speaking with 4 different *male* voices.
The words were pretty clear. He laughed and sayed, 'hello beautifull', 'you're cute', 'good girl', 'good boy' and imitated people talking without sayind actial words. (Tihan speaks english by the way).

All that with different *male* voices.

When I opened the door of my bathroom, I found my parents waiting for me.
They sayed it's ok to bring my boyfriend for 'pijama partys', but that they never though I had no shame. (all that in russian)

3 seconds later, Tihan sayed "shutup!" with one of his male voices and everybody bursted in laugh (including Tihan).

I was getting late to work that day and going back and forth in and out of the room.
When I grabbed my bag and jacket to finally leave, he sayed 'bye, I love you!'
I was surprised so I've returned and sayed 'I love you too' (in russian). He sayed 'kiss-kiss'.
I took him out, and he aproached his beack to my face and made a kissing noise.

My hearth melted... and yes, I did get really late to work, but who cares, I got my first parrot kiss :p
Now I have the strong impression he understeands what he's saying... (My brain still does realise parrots just repeat)

I had Tihan for almost a year and he definitly hates man.
Another funny thing that he does is to yell 'Trevoga' (warning in russian) when my dad is coming home.
He's a truck driver and he's not around alot, but when he's 50 kilomethers or closer to home, Tihan acts like if the house is being robbed.

Each time my boyfriend calls, he says 'Oui allo' (french) with deep male voice, but when someone else calls, he stays quiet.
The ringer is the same for all the calls.

I still can't figure it out how he does it.

However, if you have any 'mistery' / funny stories, share! :)

Cute stuff there Murg!!

Don't think for a second that parrots don't know exactly what they are saying and understand it.

More often than not they will speak it context without cues of any kind and some also seem to have telepathic powers per se. For some examples look at some of antoinette's past post on Mishka. Mishka scares the tar out of Ant. at times with his telepathy.

That is so cute! They should have a fun story's thread or something because most of the stuff we post is questions or about a sic bird or dead. Thank goodness I see those I got a new birdy baby threads! :D They need to make a good story's thread!

I was having dinner and Tihan always wants to eat human food.
I've gave him steamed colourfull vegies and pointed with my finger, so he knows it's for him. I layed the veggies on the table directly (have to wash it after parrot feeding anyway)

Same was done for my lovebird. Barankin started eating, but Tihan stared at me making his question noise. I pointed again and sayed "Edaaaaa" (food in russian). He keeped making his asking/questioning noise.

He would not eat, so I get up and got a small human food plate to put all the vegies on it so I can take them to the cages later.

Tihan made his "RAAAAAAA" which means 'goooood' (he makes that noice every time I give him something tasty or if he likes something) and STARTED EATING immediatly!

After that, I didn't offered him a kleenex to clean his beak, so he climbed to my shoulder, made asking noises for a while and then, used my shirt as a kleenex (which made a hole in it btw) T_T.
Once done cleaning, he moved to the other shoulder and sayed 'RAAAAA'.

I think my bird has very good manners :D

Sometimes he creeps me out because he acts like a person trapped in human body.

If I try to teach him something else than "come here" he will pretty much refuse to do anything. He will look at me like he's saying 'oh really? whatever!' and don't take any food even if I give it to him for 'free'.
After a training failure of this kind, he'll return to his cage and make 'ra-rarar-ararara-ra-ra' grumping noises, like saying 'in my days when I was human, grass was more green'
