Sammy is improving

just wanted to share ..............

My Sammy starting being a "love bird" today.....lol........

He is snuggling.. and hanging on to my hand when trying to return him to the cage when I had to go for a store run. it was cute, he almost bent in half dropping his head in my palm to keep from having to get on his perch.

he had spent the last year or so cage bound and so I thought it would take years, if ever, for me to get to the point of actually getting him comfortable with me. He also started playing the "protector" tonight. He was sitting on my shoulder (which I normally want allow, but after the spray bath and showing so much "good" attention to me today I allowed it for a few minutes) and if anyone walked close by he turned to look at them and made it clear "Don't get to close to my mommy" lol........

He has been a real showboat today. he still has not got to the point of wanting anything to do with anyone else. He wont step up to anyone else either. but I can walk by and he reaches for me right away. It's just adorable.

I still keep trying to get him to warm up to my husband, but I think he is content being mommy's boy lol

Thanks Jersey.
I have spent many hours working with him just trying to build trust and let him know he is safe. But even with all the hours of time a day and talks to him non-stop I think he is coming around perfectly! I would not take a single moment of the time back. I love working with him , my husband swears I don't talk to anyone anymore but Sammy. lol
