hi all,
not sure if you read my last thread but I took my new amazon baby to the vets as she was showing some discharge and clicking sound. The swabs came back normal and the vet says that it is changes in environment that have made her a bit congested.

I have noticed though, that after showering (and a little after steaming) once she is dry and preened she is absolutely fine and no discharge at all for the rest of the day. My question is is it ok to let her shower everyday? As i figured that in the wild it would rain heavily/be humid a lot.

And do you think it would be beneficial to get a humidifier? I have been using a purifier which seems to help a little.

Also, a little off topic but today she flew to me and was preening my hair/face/ears for ages and then leant forward for me to preen her head ..was soo sweet lol

Very happy to hear your baby is healthy. :)

I personally do NOT shower my fids every day. In the winter they get bathed 2-3 times/week because of the dry, hot air.

I have a small, cheap humidifier which I use when it gets too dry, and have never had any problems with it.

SUPER precious that she flew to you and preened you. :D That's true birdie love right there!!!

We don't shower everyday either in the winter, but I do take Bosley in a steamy bathroom while I shower frequently. Bosley has sneezes due to the dry air in the winter as well.
