I spent almost entire morning on sorting her feather as she FINALLY!!!! almost at the end of her molting. She is loosing her dawn feathers still.
But that's how my collection looks right now....... :)

That looks so good all separated! I think that is too tedious for me, but once I threw a bunch into a bag over months because a lady at my old workplace wanted parrot feathers. Somehow they never got to her, so I still have this assortment of species in a bag somewhere, including some birds I no longer have. Maybe you can sell them? I say this because I have heard of people who want them for artwork or whatever.

Thank you Wendy,
She looks great, I think. I'll post few new pictures when I get to that.
It is very relaxing, actually....I just wish it didn't take THAT much time.
Simba and I were doing it together. She kept making this funny sound that she usually makes when she doesn't understand what is going on.....like "Haaa???!!!"
She did molt a lot of feathers. I wonder if this is normal or not. She just kept molting and molting. You should see all her collected feathers when they are not in the bags.....it's just a big mountain......:)

Wow, that is quite a collection of feathers! They are so beautiful, the yellow bag reminds me of candy corn. Have you decided what you are going to do with them?

Nope, have no clue......
I didn't have heart to toss them.
Maybe one day (if I have enough of dawn feathers) I'll make a little pillow.......hehe.

I can't remember where the thread is located, but there is a thread on what people do with their feathers and so many good ideas on it. Maybe someone else remembers where that thread is?

I've also kept almost every feather Percy's lost but I seldome keep those cute teeny tiny ones, I'm too lazy to pick them out from the bits and pieces on the cage floor. What are you going to do with it all?

If people are looking to donate feathers...

Zia Pueblo in need of Parrot and Macaw feathers.
The Zia Pueblo of Central New Mexico have a deep reverence for the natural world, including a connection with parrots and macaws. So much so that, as part of their cultural and religious dress and obligations, many parrot feathers are used. Because of wear and tear and additional use as one-time offerings there is a constant need for more feathers.

To this end, they are requesting parrot caregivers send any moulted feathers they may have to the group. It should be noted that feathers should only be sent from within the United States, otherwise CITES permits would be required.

Please send to:
Celestino Gachupin, 1087 Zia Blvd, Zia Pueblo, NM 87053-6028
