Does anyone have any issues with their birdy babies drinking water?

Has anyone ever tried the Kangen vs regular tap water?

my issues with Sammy and water is this:

I know he drinks but I have never seen him drink from his water dish. When he is at the sink with me to get water, he does love the running water, he will not drink unless the water is warm. Its likes he hates cold water. I always make sure his water bowl is filled with warmer water of course this changes as the water sits in his cage. but that is more for my piece of mind anyways lol.

And Kangen water aka "healing water".....has anyone tried this? was just wondering if it would be ok to use for Sammy. I got a few bottles the other day for me, normally not a water drinker but I love this water, and I thought I may give him some but wanted to ask opinions here first.

thanks

Parrots get most of their moisture from fresh produce in their diet, not drinking out of a dish. That said, you parrot probably does drink out of his dish occasionally and you just don't notice. I rarely catch my guy drinking, but when I do, it's a few quick dips of his beak, and he's done. The ONLY time I ever see a noticeable amount of water missing from Kiwi's dish isn't because he was drinking, it was because he took a bath:20: Parrots consume such proportionally small amounts of water, you will never see the water line go down like you would a dog or cats water dish.

As for Sammy liking the sink, he's probably very intrigued by the running water. I would suspect he more wants to play in the water than drink it per se. With the 'healing' water, so long as it's ONLY water (so no electrolytes, artificial colors, vitamins, sweeteners ext...) it's fine.

Ditto what April said. I've had Percy for 8 months now and I've only seen him actually drink water once. Sure he makes lots of soup but that's another story ;)
And of course, he does his best to drown himself in his waterbowl after his shower ((mist with a bottle). He dunks his head INTO the water and comes up spitting, sneezing and splashing LOL! And after that, there are always watery poops to clean up!

I only put filtered water in his water bowl but use tap water (from the cold tap) for misting. He doesn't like warm water at all.

thanks to you both. He will drink like crazy when we are in the shower. lol yes, he showers with me. lol But he gets fruit every day so I assume that his water supply is good from that. He loves apples and bananas. Has stolen a bite or two of my oranges as well. I have not offer him those because I have not ask yet if it is ok for him to have much citrus.....so ?
his water dish, he could care less if it is there.... wont even play in that water. But his daily showers with me keep him clean. Some days he just hangs out on the shower rod instead of hopping in but the steam and moisture does him great. I am trying to figure out how to make him a good shower perch....and ideas? I think I should invest in a "bird furniture for dummies" book.

thanks again!

My amazon likes ice cubes! But like they said he doesn't drink very much and I hardly ever catch him in the act. But when he baths he throws all of the water out of the dish!

I gave up completely on the bathing dish. Sammy would not go near it so he just showers with me. the dish did not go to waste however. I had bought a large one for him and when he refused to use that to bath I simply cut out round sheets of newspaper , lots of them, and lined the dish. it now sets under his perch on the outside of the cage and is the perfect " poop spot" for him and easy to clean. just take out some paper daily, bathroom all clean, lol

this is also how I got him potty trained

My conure gets a lot of her water from her daily shower with me as well. As long as your birdie looks/acts healthy, I wouldn't worry.
