The main pictures just a default and I'm not sure I was told he was a blue fronted but maybe he's not, his owner passed away, the other is the one we didn't keep who was in a different cage to Alfie
Yeah I've just googled it which ever I put it they show same birds, I was told he was a blue fronted but from the updated picture above looks exactly same and from a video the owner made he had them both 8 years, when he passed away I rehomed Alfie,
From the video he is either call Alfie or Monty but we couldn't tell which he named them both because it was a really old video of them both
Makes sense from reading the link because he doesn't make any human noises but maybe because he was always with joey the other parrot and he hardly makes any noise,
Progress is slow but he's a great part of the family
Orange wings all pretty much look the same, to a lesser or greater degree. Blue fronts however vary widely in size and colorations.... from no blue coloration at all to a large amount of blue... and from very little to no yellow to a lot of yellow!
As mentioned, their beaks are also differently colored.... blue fronts having black beaks and orange wings having two toned beaks. Blue fronts may also have more coloration on the wings.
Here is a video of two young orange wings and a blue front in the same container.
Orange wings are amazing pets! I kind of prefer them to the blue fronts anyway. If Alfie has the two toned beak, then Alfie is an OW!
Hybrids between the two species have occurred, due to the confusion.... here is one such hybrid. Body of a blue front but the beak leans more towards the orange wing side. Head coloration is mostly orange wing, cheeks appear more blue front though.
