Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
That looks like a young double yellow headed amazon to me...

The head feathers haven't completely molted in all the yellow yet, so that leads me to believe this bird is very young, like less than 1 year old, and it is not a magna or tres marias, just your garden variety DYH. Give it a year, and the head feathers will fill out to full yellow.

As others have said, he's a very handsome double yellow head. Is he your bird?

Welcome to the forum. I would agree with immature DYH, although a mature Panama would look similar but slightly smaller. Regardless , a good looking bird. Hope to see you around on the forum.

I thought of that, but he looks to big to be a Panama to me, and that face is classic DYH.

It may be a dyh, but magna's usually have WAY more yellow on their head, even when they are young. So I am doubting that claim. It's hard to tell until they get their full adult colors though. Next molt should give you a better idea.

If it's a Panama, it's a HUGE panama.

IMO the barring on the neck seems a bit much for a Pan , but is more consistent with Magnas. how old is the bird and how much does he weigh?

If you've ever seen true Magnas, the yellow goes all the way down to their necks. As babies, they generally still have noticeably more yellow. BUT you really won't know until the head feathers molt out the first few times.
