Took Zack to the vet today for the lump on his back. She prescribed an antibiotic for him to take the next couple of weeks. It was his first time at the vet....an experience to say the least. He settled down in the car on the way back, so I think he can get used to travel.

Now to get him used to being handled by other people...fortunately I was the only one bit. Almost got a new piercing in my ear! He's home now and sitting quietly in his cage.

Hopefully the medicine will help.

Good boy Zack for only biting daddy! I'm sure the vet appreciated that :)

Hope the medicine works quickly and well

Was the vet able to tell you what sort of growth it was? Do you have to go back for a follow up visit?

I hope Zack didn't tear too much into your flesh.

She thinks (hopes) it is an infection. I have to follow up with her in 16 days after we finish the antibiotics.

He got my ear bleeding pretty good there for a while. Funny thing, he sat on the shoulders of both the vet and her assistant. But waits to get on MY shoulder to bite. :20:

Re: back from the vets A side effect

I have in the past used a towel to put my legs when I let Zack set on me and I am wearing shorts. The vet used a towel to handle him, probably the only reason he didn't bite her. :)

Last night, Zack was setting on his cage when I picked up a towel and was taking to the chair before trying to pick him up. He LAUNCHED himself at the towel and (as usual) ended up on the floor. I had to use the towel to keep him from coming after me. I finally tossed the towel out of the room to try to calm him down, he then proceeded to chase me into the kitchen before I could find something for him to step up on.

It wouldn't hage been so bad if I had only put on a pair of shoes! Since he was on the floor, the only thing he could reach was my feet. I was literally jumping to keep my toes unbitten! :11:

Gotta say, he is a quick learner, different place, different setting and a different colered towel and he just KNEW he didn't want anything to do with it! :09:

Maybe now that HIS toes have been trimmed, it won't be so bad if I wear shorts?
