Hi All!
I am very pleased to announce that Percy the Bloodthirsty biter has changed into Percy the Cuddlebunny . I can't remember when last I received an actual bite. Thanks so much for all the advice and support you all gave me in those horrible, scary first few months!
These days, Percy still bites others (he's a rebel ) but I don't get bitten - I get beak-buts! Yup, he buts me with his beak to tell me he's upset! Even when he's beak is open, he doesn't bite but just bumps me with it. No, don't ask how I trained him to do this, I didn't. He just came up with this all by himself. It is too cute
And here is some gratuitous Percy-ness for your enjoyment :
Dancing on the plates in the crockery cupboard...
Gnawing on his current favourite chewable - bottlebrush buds :
Giving me the evil eye for daring to disturb him in his box - this is the toy rotation box I keep in a corner of his window. He's decided that the toys that sucked soooo much when they were in the cage or on the gym, are super fun here in the box and he hates being "spied on" or interrupted when he's rooting around in there
And, finally - catching some sun with Mom. With winter here, we love grabbing some sun when it is warm enough out. He loves these walks in the garden and talks to all the trees and sasses all the "scarybirds" (mostly doves and sparrows LOL!) that fly by . When they fly by his window, he's terrified by them but perched on mom's shoulder, he can take on the world
