How do I tell if this is a "real" Panama

I know they are supposed to have Pans,,, however that doesn't look like a pure panama to me. beak is too dark, yes some panamas do have a black mark on their upper mandible, but that beak looks more like YCA than the "bone" white that pans have. (similar to DYH) . I have/breed Panamas, i run into many "proven breeder pairs" that aren't Pans but YCA or mixed pairs. Some breeders don't know and some don't care, and some are looking for more money as Pans are worth more than YCA. In all fairness that isn't the best picture and many zon babies are hard to ID. However IMO that's not a true Pan.Doesn't look like my babies anyway. Sorry my limited number of babies are spoken for.
PS have you ever seen Pan babies for 650$ before ?? Mine sell for twice that. that alone would set off alarms with me.

No it doesn't change with age. I did notice the older baby that they held back for a breeder, and are now selling for 650. It does look like a Pan. I realize you can't PM me because you are new to the forum. But you could PM one one the mods (jersey wendy) and they could pass your or my contact info between us. i might be interested in going to look at that breeder male she's selling. I could check out the babies if you wish, as well as see the parents. She's about 6 hr drive up the road from me.
