So, after I redecorated his cage, Kiwi put on a lovely display

Please excuse the poor little fella's appearance, he's gearing up for a molt and looking pretty ratty

Anyways...

And this preening session ended...poorly for Kiwi, with a most unwelcome snuggle from his daddy (kiwi looks just like this--->:52

Kiwi's such a doll

I think his plumage looks immaculate as always! I especially love the eyes on the 4th pic. On the last one he does look like :52:! Too funny!

I guess it must be me. He's got a couple wing feathers that have been bothering me for a while! He got some sticky fruit matter on them, and then the sticky patches went black. I hope he will molt them out... I've noticed he's starting to drop a couple feathers, so its getting to be that time of year!

She's a smart girl to use her own feather! Preening is how they groom themselves. Healthy and happy parrots preen every day. It should be encouraged too, it keeps their feathers healthy

I notice my amazon likes to preen when she is on my shoulder. I don't see her doing it that much although her feathers are in good shape. Maybe she does it when I'm not around.
