Just wanted introduce my new baby to everyone and would appreciate any advice you guys might have. While I have had birds in the past, I haven't had any in the last few years with my last companion being a green cheek conure. With that said I am a little nervous and am greatly anticipating the day when I can bring him/her home as he/she is still being weaned.

Welcome to the forum. Loads of good info here about caring for your new buddy. I have a amazon that has been with me for 44yrs now. You have the rare opportunity to develop a life long companion. The first year has much to do with how things will be in the future. Research, ask questions, and take plenty of pics for us. Hope you'll be a 'regular" on the forum. BTW best advice,, socialize, socialize, socialize

What a little sweetie, doesn't even have all his/her feathers yet! Henpecked is right, you have an amazing opportunity to make a friend for life. My mom has 2 amazons, she got both in the early 1970s (along with a cockatoo). All still healthy/active birds. Her DYH was wild caught as an adult and is now well over 45 y/o, and hasn't slowed down one bit. They are truly lifelong companions! Best of luck with the new baby, hope to see you around.

Thank you everyone for the advice, just wanted to update you guys on him/her, he/she is now fully feathered :) and today when I went to visit him for a bonding sesh I got to feed him/her! I could barely handle the cuteness lol. I'll try to upload some pics later on in this week.
