So I had a few ups and downs with Mango. I was doing some construction on my house and I moved his cage up into my bedroom for four months. During this time I took in my cousins Quaker who got kicked out of the apartment and the noise seemed to be upsetting Mango as he started chewing on some feathers. I was done with the construction and moved Mango downstairs figuring all will be fine. I wake up the next morning and he destroyed half of his feathers. In a panic I rushed him to the Avian Vet and had him checked out with blood work. Everything came back fine, I found out he is a boy and the vet had put him on benadryl and told me to spray him as his skin looked dry. After a week he stopped picking at his feathers and now they are growing back in now because he is molting. The initial incident was 2 months ago I am hoping this is the end of it but he seems to be doing good.

Today I try putting his aviator harness on him and he bugged out. I could not get this thing on him. He has become such a brat as he gets older. I am thinking of getting a feather tether, what size would I get for a yellow shoulder amazon. Any other options out there?

I'm glad Mango is improving. I would probably hold of on harness training (or any other stressful activity you can avoid) to just give him a chance to recuperate mentally and get into healthy habits again. Once you are positive he is on a good path again, then start working on the harness. I would also increase the amount of shredding and chewing toys to keep his attention on toys instead of himself so the chewing doesn't become a habit.
