Since Folgers old collar was starting to get ratty I picked up a new collar at the shelter when I babysat last weekend. I made mother give Folger a bath while he had the old collar off before putting the new one one. Well while I was sitting at the table waiting for Folger to finish drying off Kelly wanted to come over and talk to me... I couldn't resist...

He was rolling around trying to get it off with beak and feet at first (same reaction Folger had when I first put a collar on him)... I did think he was going to be able to rip it off for a second there... then he sat there and stared at me for a minute until I took it off....then he sulked in the corner for awhile. I think the colors of the collar went well with the green though! :D

Poor Kelly:( While Folger looks rather handsome with his collar, Kelly looks much better all-natural:) I'm surprised how calm he looks about it though, like "what is this doing on me? These pink and purple feathers belong to my brother":D.

Folger was on the stand smirking at him I'm fairly sure! Kelly gave me the evil eye from his corner for awhile...

Hanging around outside in his tree again...makes up for all the torture of the week! I took him outside to hang out while adopters took a look at our foster parrolets. One of the babies has been chosen and will be going home in the next week or so!

Kelly sure is well camouflaged in that tree! Must've been hard to find him when it was time to come in;)

It's hilarious when he is in that tree talking up a storm and the neighbors are walking along and start looking around trying to find him. From a distance he is impossible to spot:D I'm just waiting for him to wolf whistle one of them!

Does Kelly not fly or is he recall trained?

I bet the neighbors don't expect to see a big green parrot in a tree:D We tried to let Kiwi climb in trees before but he gets all indignant like "what the hell is this filthy thing your setting me in"

What a neat looking collar. And there is nothing like getting whistled at-even if it's a green bird in a tree!

Maya, my B&G Absolutely loves our magnolia tree. I'm pretty sure magnolia is safe for birds, she doesnt chew it or anything. She will sit in it all day and come down for food/water every hour or so. (only supervised and i call her if i see anything dangerous around)

I'll post some pics when i get a new camera

He doesn't fly. I want to get him harness trained in the thought that maybe we could teach him to fly but he has been very aggressive with other people these days. The only person he is semi alright with is my mother. Otherwise I am the only one he will let near he even gave Jeanne some attitude when she came over for a visit. So I am not sure flying is a great idea right now for him or well people really... he has actually started to chase people and I have some wimpy people in the house backing off at first...luckily I got it in their heads they need to met him head on instead of backing off since he wants you to back off and go away. I think that is why he is okay with my mother since he knows if he starts any thing with her she will just walk up and start touching and talking to him....makes him very disgruntled:rolleyes: At the shelter he was pretty much the same way. The only people who could talk to or handle him without worrying about a bite the whole time was Jeanne or me.

Kelly loves peeling the bark at first I was like no but then we identified the tree and learned it was safe so he loves going in it and killing it slowly... he does love talking to the neighbors and will often say 'bye' when they go away in his sing song voice:)
